Short Description:	This RYR1 Sandwich ELISA Kit is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the measurement of samples in mouse cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma (EDTA, citrate, heparin).

Storage Instruction:	Store the unopened kit in the fridge at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. Once opened store individual kit contents according to components table provided with the kit.

Tissue Specificity	Detected in muscle and myotubes (at protein level). Ubiquitous. Detected in diaphragm, skeletal muscle, esophagus, spleen, submaxillary gland, adrenal gland, cerebellum, brain and in testis germ cells.
Post Translational Modifications	Channel activity is modulated by phosphorylation. Phosphorylation at Ser-2844 may increase channel activity. Repeated very high-level exercise increases phosphorylation at Ser-2844. Activated by reversible S-nitrosylation. Repeated very high-level exercise increases S-nitrosylation.
Function	Cytosolic calcium-activated calcium channel that mediates the release of Ca(2+) from the sarcoplasmic reticulum into the cytosol and thereby plays a key role in triggering muscle contraction following depolarization of T-tubules. Repeated very high-level exercise increases the open probability of the channel and leads to Ca(2+) leaking into the cytoplasm. Can also mediate the release of Ca(2+) from intracellular stores in neurons, and may thereby promote prolonged Ca(2+) signaling in the brain. Required for normal embryonic development of muscle fibers and skeletal muscle. Required for normal heart morphogenesis, skin development and ossification during embryogenesis.
